The Great North goes White

Yep, we had snow last Sunday and it stuck around for a while. Unfortunately we also had sleet and freezing rain on Monday morning and it turned the snow into hard ice. The shot below of Cam and I clearing about 5cms of snow doesn't do the work effort justice, I was stuffed after I finished the driveway and the path and I'm fairly fit after a summer of running.The ice just sticks to the landscape and doesn't want to give up its grip. The kids of course are loving it. Each evening when they get home from school they're straight out into the backyard and sliding around on their tobogan mats. There's been a few face-plants, resulting in grazed lips, noses and chins, but it hasn't stopped them going out for more.
